With the NFL schedule release approaching, it’s not too early to explore which teams have the most favorable and challenging slate of opponents for 2025.
The league has already announced that the 2025 NFL schedule will be released on May 14, but all 32 clubs’ opponents were set after Week 18 of last year. Based on that, we know which teams will face especially difficult paths to reaching Super Bowl 60.
Using projected win totals for all 32 NFL teams, Warren Sharp of Sharp Football Analysis ranked each club’s schedule difficulty from worst to first. According to his analysis, the New York Giants have the hardest schedule, with Vegas setting their win total at 5.5.
The Cleveland Browns, who finished 31st last season, have the second-hardest NFL schedule for 2025. They are followed by the Detroit Lions, defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles and Minnesota Vikings.
Not only are the Giants a trendy pick to finish as football’s worst team next year, but they have to play a stacked group of opponents. Of course, that includes four games against the Eagles and NFC runner-up Washington Commanders, plus a Dallas Cowboys team that has owned this rivalry for a decade and counting.
The Giants also have to play the entire NFC North and AFC West divisions, featuring three playoff teams in 2025. So yes, good luck to Brian Daboll and company this year. They’re really gonna need it.

According to Sharp’s analysis, the San Francisco 49ers have the easiest schedule for 2025, thanks to their projected Vegas win total of 10.5. The 49ers only have four (!) games against teams who made the playoffs in 2024, including two against a Los Angeles Rams team that Kyle Shanahan has owned.
They’ll also play the Houston Texans and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the lucky winners of the weak AFC and NFC South divisions. The 49ers may be favored in both those games, too.
