Coming into Super Bowl LVI, there was plenty of speculation surrounding the future of Rams star defensive tackle Aaron Donald. Many believed that this could be his final game if L.A. emerges victorious.
The belief floating around the media was that Donald could seriously contemplate retirement should he get that elusive Super Bowl ring.
Donald proceeded to go out and have a monster game, recording two sacks and pressuring Joe Burrow into the final incompletion on fourth down that sealed the victory for the Rams.
Afterwards, it was quite obvious that he was going to be asked about his future. And, perhaps not surprisingly, he pumped the breaks on making any sort of decision, instead telling the media that he was going to celebrate this win and take some time to enjoy life with his family before determining what’s next.
Should Aaron Donald decide to hang up the cleats, he would go out as a three-time defensive players of the year, seven-time All Pro, and eight-time Pro Bowler…
Oh yeah. And a Super Bowl champion!
