
Former Minnesota Viking Adrian Peterson has been arrested.
He was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving after he was stopped on a Twin Cities road for speeding early Friday morning.
Peterson was in Minneapolis for the team’s draft party.
The 40-year-old former star running back was spotted in the early morning hours by a State Patrol trooper driving 83 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone in an Audi Q5, per TMZ Sports.
Adrian Peterson submitted a breath sample on the scene; he blew a .14. The legal limit is .08 in Minnesota.
The 40-year-old Peterson was arrested for fourth-degree DWI and booked into jail at 5:15 a.m. A little over two hours later, Adrian Peterson was released on a $4,000 bond. His next court appearance is set for May 9.

Peterson was a featured guest at the team’s draft day extravaganza at U.S. Bank Stadium just hours before this ordeal.
Peterson was drafted by the Vikings out of Oklahoma in 2007 and played 10 years in Minnesota.
After being released, he bounced around the league, carrying the ball for New Orleans, Arizona, Washington, Detroit, Tennessee, and Seattle.

Former Viking great Adrian Peterson faces yet another legal hurdle after being arrested early Friday morning for allegedly driving while intoxicated.
For fans who followed his career, this is just the latest issue for Peterson.
The former MVP was charged with felony child abuse for using a switch to discipline his children in 2014. Peterson was suspended by the NFL in 2014 after being charged with felony child abuse for using a switch to spank his then-4-year-old son.
Most recently, Peterson has faced accusations of failing to pay child support and refusing to turn over assets to pay off a debt reported at $12 million.
