The Atlanta Falcons have released a statement following their defensive coordinator, Jeff Ulbrich, being exposed as the one responsible for Shedeur Sanders’ phone number being leaked.
Shedeur was the victim of a cruel prank during the second round of the NFL Draft, with some college kids getting him to believe he was being selected by the New Orleans Saints, one of them later being identified as Jeff’s son, Jax Ulbrich.
The team hired Ulbrich as a DC following his stint as an interim head coach with the New York Jets. They have condemned his son’s actions, revealing that the 21-year-old acquired the number from an open iPad while visiting his parents’ home, noting that was Jeff completely unaware until after the prank call.
The Atlanta Falcons Issue Apologies Both Publicly And Privately

The team also revealed that they had contacted the Sanders family to apologize and facilitate a personal apology from Jax while also apologizing publicly. They
“The Atlanta Falcons do not condone this behavior and send our sincere apologies to Shedeur Sanders and his family, who we have been in contact with to apologize to, as well as facilitate an apology directly from Jax to the Sanders family,” they wrote.

With the NFL having opened an investigation into the matter, the Atlanta Falcons are cooperating fully with the league and have been in contact on that front as well.
“We are thoroughly reviewing all protocols, and updating if necessary, to help prevent an incident like this from happening again,” they added.
Sanders, whose father Deion is a Falcons icon, had deduced that it had to be the kid of an NFL coach or exec. He was spot on.
