Nothing ever dies on the internet. And nothing is forgotten.
Take this Baker Mayfield tweet, which is suddenly going viral again amid all these wild rumors regarding the Browns efforts to acquire Deshaun Watson, and their apparent decision to move on from Mayfield, no matter what happens on the Watson front.
All of this drama caused some to turn back to a tweet that Mayfield posted back in January 2021, after Browns fan page “Dawg Pound Daily” suggested the team look into trading for Watson, after he requested a trade from the Texans — prior to all of the sexual assault allegations.
Funny, yes. But apparently Browns fans are also very foresighted. They saw this coming before even Baker did.
The Browns at the moment are believed to be in a four-horse race for Watson’s services, along with the Saints, Panthers and Falcons. The Saints are said to be the frontrunners at the moment, but word has it the Cleveland felt good after their interview with Deshaun.
And even if that doesn’t come to fruition, there’s still other options on the table, like Jimmy Garoppolo, or whoever may be available to them with the 13th overall pick in the upcoming draft. But based on Baker’s latest Tweet, it seems like even he realizes his time in Cleveland is over.
