Beyonce, Jay-Z and their kid, Blue Ivy, all chose to remain seated during the playing of the National Anthem, despite Jay being a big partner of the league now.
As the video shows below, neither member of the Carter’s opted to move much while Demi Lovato belted out the Anthem on the field before the Chiefs took on the 49ers.
Just before the Super Bowl, Jay-Z shed light on his partnership with the NFL, which sparked criticism when it was first announced in 2019.
“As long as real people are being hurt and marginalized and losing family members, then yes, I can take a couple rounds of negative press,” Jay-Z said in an interview with the New York Times published on Saturday (Feb. 1).
Speaking of Colin Kaepernick, he had this to say:
“We are two adult men who disagree on the tactic but are marching for the same cause,” he explained.
