The Eagles’ defense might be looking vastly different by the time the 2023 season begins.
The Philadelphia Eagles granted cornerback Darius Slay’s agent Drew Rosenhaus permission to seek a trade, according to ESPN’s Dianna Rusini.
Russini added the Eagles are hopeful to find a solution where Slay remains on the team.
Slay was acquired by the Eagles in 2020 and was a huge reason why the team made it all the way to the Super Bowl.
He recently stated that he wants to stay in Philly.
“Of course, I want an extension. I love Philly man,” Slay said. “I plan on staying but if it don’t happen I know I got 1 year left here. I love the Eagles. They took another chance on me trading for me, and I panned out of course. I’d love to stay in Philly for sure.”
Slay is coming off a Pro Bowl season that saw him accumulate 14 passes defensed and three interceptions.
