NFL legend Brett Favre is speaking out again- this time aiming at Oregon officials for allowing transgender athletes to compete in girls’ sports. His comments come in response to a recent track meet where a transgender competitor set a season record, igniting further debate over fairness in women’s athletics.
Favre, who has been vocal about his stance on the issue, called out Oregon officials after Ada Gallagher, a transgender athlete from McDaniel High School, dominated the 400-meter race and also won the 200-meter event at a Portland Interscholastic League meet.
In a direct message to those overseeing high school sports in the state, Favre didn’t hold back. “This shouldn’t be okay, and shame on all the officials who would allow this,” he wrote.

Favre’s stance aligns with former President Donald Trump, who recently signed an executive order banning transgender women and girls from participating in female sports categories.
“I appreciate President @realDonaldTrump signing an initiative to keep biological boys from competing against females,” Favre posted on X, formerly Twitter. “It’s sad that this had to happen in this day and age, but glad it was done.”
The Hall of Famer has also sparred with public figures over the issue, including Whoopi Goldberg. Last month, he criticized The View co-host after she defended transgender participation in women’s sports, calling his opposition “common sense.” Speaking with FOX News’ Will Cain, Favre admitted he was “speechless” at Goldberg’s remarks, adding, “There’s nothing I can say that’s gonna change her mind- I can only shake my head at this.”

Meanwhile, the Oregon School Activities Association is reviewing its policies on transgender participation. According to KATV.com, the current framework lets students compete based on their “consistently asserted gender identity.” Whether Favre’s criticism will drive any changes remains unclear, but the debate over fairness in high school sports continues.
