That seems almost impossible for a guy that led a Cleveland Browns franchise to a record of 3-36-1 (8.8 percent) and no playoff appearances. Even with those 36 losses, Jackson never had a lopsided loss quite like the 2019 Browns had against the 49ers.
“Cleveland lost Monday by 28 points and was outgained by 266 yards. By either metric it was worse than any loss in the entire Hue Jackson era.
Through 5 games this season, Cleveland has had losses by 30 and 28 points. Under Hue Jackson the team never lost by more than 25 points. They didn’t win much under Hue, but they mostly avoided blowouts with “only” 3 losses by more than 21 points.
The -266 yardage differential was the worst for Cleveland in nearly a decade, since October 25, 2009.
Monday’s -4 turnover margin also tied the worst games of the Jackson era (-4 happened twice).”
The offseason champs are off to a 2-3 start so far during the 2019 season, good for second place in the AFC North.
This team will only go as far as Baker Mayfield takes them, and he is currently struggling at the QB position, racking up just 1,247 yards and four TDs in five games, and also has eight interceptions along with a passer rating of 68.5.
He’s not the only issue as he’s already been sacked 16 times this year, which is tied for 5th-most in the league.
The Browns added a bunch of pieces, but they still have a long way to go to actually be put in a serious conversation for a Super Bowl contender. Their barely in the conversation to make the playoffs at this point.
