The Cleveland Browns’ front office had an interesting reaction to landing Shedeur Sanders in the NFL Draft on Saturday.
While the wait is finally over for the former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback and his family, the Browns’ war room didn’t appear all that thrilled at having made Shedeur their fifth-round pick.
The franchise took the QB at No. 6 in the round and No. 144 overall, a steep drop from the first-round projections and mock drafts circulating ahead of Day 1 on Thursday. And the vibe in the room was pretty subdued.

The team’s QB room now consists of Sanders, Deshaun Watson, Kenny Pickett, Joe Flacco, and Dillon Gabriel.
For his part, Shedeur was happy and relieved to finally get picked after being made to wait until Day 3. After getting snubbed for four rounds, he will need to prove everyone was wrong about him.
