The Arizona Cardinals first-round draft pick did not make the front office too happy after he got arrested just months after they selected him in the draft.
Scottsdale police arrested 22-year-old Zaven Collins back in June for excessive speed and reckless driving. He was said to be going 76 mph in a 35 mph zone at about 10:00 a.m.
TMZ Sports has since obtained footage of that day and it shows Collins begging like crazy to get a break, but the arresting officers were not trying to hear it.
“I know you could scold my ass, and I know you could really, really help me out and, just — please, sir!”
He told one of the officers, “Nah, I was not going that fast,” before adding, “I apologize.”
“I know I sped a little bit, sir,” Collins said … “I’m just saying, can you help, like, please? Just show a little bit of love. Please. God bless. Please.”
In only eight games for Tulsa in a pandemic-shortened season, Collins had 11½ tackles for loss, four sacks, four interceptions (two returned for touchdowns), two pass breakups and a blocked kick.
