The Chicago Bears are already trying to shake up the NFL Draft.
The Bears have been the subject of a few draft trade rumors before the first round on Thursday night.
The Bears are reported to be interested in selecting Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty. Given the demand for the Heisman Trophy runner-up, general manager Ryan Poles knows he must move up in order to get him.
Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reported that the Bears are “looking to move up” from the No. 10 pick.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter wrote earlier this week that people around the NFL “believe the Bears are praying that Jeanty slips to them at No. 10.”
It appears that the Chicago Bears do not want to test fate and move up to get the player they want.

They may need to get ahead of the Jags after ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler called Jacksonville a “sleeper” team for Jeanty with the fifth pick. Fowler added that Jeanty “would love” to play for the Las Vegas Raiders, who pick sixth.

NFL insider Albert Breer would chime in and choose the Chicago Bears as a team looking to move up.
“There could be teams like Chicago within the top 10 that could be looking to come up to get the running back,” Breer said on NBC Sports Boston’s Early Edition.
Ryan Poles even hinted that trade discussions were happening with the Bears and around the league when he said he expected the draft to be “wild” on Thursday night.
Ashton Jeanty Would Be Perfect For The Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears desperately need an upgrade to the running game to help out QB Caleb Williams.
In 2024, they were ranked 24th in rushing yards per game.
Boise State star Ashton Jeanty is the No. 1 ranked running back in the 2025 class and most experts project him to go in the top 10.
Jeanty finished the 2024 college football season with 2,601 rushing yards, the second-most in a single season in FBS history.
Put him in the backfield with Williams, and the Bears could do big things for years to come.
