Tom Brady is coming out of retirement….and many people are pissed off at him. The legendary quarterback took to Twitter to announce his return to the Buccaneers for a third season, and his 23rd NFL season overall.
The news comes after weeks of speculation that his retirement would be short lived.
“These past two months I’ve realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands. That time will come. But it’s not now. I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. They make it all possible. I’m coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa. Unfinished business LFG,” Brady announced on Twitter.
His announcement came with a ton of hate because he decided to make that decision in the midst of March Madness and he got accused of hijacking the big sports night.
Brady will turn 45 in August. He is coming off of one of the best statistical seasons of his NFL career, throwing for a career-high 5,316 yards along with 43 touchdowns and 12 interceptions, leading the team to a 13–4 regular season record.
After beating the Eagles in the wild card round, the Buccaneers fell to the eventual Super Bowl champion Rams at home, 30–27, in the divisional round.
