A trade with the Minnesota Vikings could fashion as much as the NFC North outfit is looking to move on from their own man, Dalvin Cook. The 27-year-old will have two years left on his deal after the 2023 season and is due $10.4 million for his services for said term. The Vikings have made little secret of their intention to find a trade partner.
Cook is still a top running back, having rushed for 1,468 yards and 10 touchdowns last season. And, with the Cowboys letting Zeke go, they could be a viable destination for a player who has made the Pro Bowl for four consecutive campaigns.
How Do The Cowboys Trade For Dalvin Cook?
Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox has suggested that the Cowboys could get a deal over the line by offering a fourth-round pick for next year, as well as a 2025 fifth-round pick, in exchange for the star RB.
The fact that the Vikings are known to want the player moved has lowered his value. It’s also possible that he could be released; so getting two draft picks in return for him would be great value.
As for Dallas, Cook would represent a huge upgrade on Elliott, and partnering him with Tony Pollard would make them a formidable force in the NFC. It’s thought that there is a chance Elliot returns, however.
