Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys will be very far from the Super Bowl next Sunday, yet the longtime owner has something to be happy about despite his team’s playoff exit.
The Cowboys beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFL’s wild-card round, but the divisional round was another affair as they ended up getting booted out by the San Francisco 49ers, who have since lost to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Tom Brady has retired in the wake of his last loss and Jones is happy the Cowboys were the ones to hand the former quarterback his final disappointment.
“I’m proud of that win. I’m gonna hold that Tampa Bay win up just like I did that Herschel Walker ball when we won one game the first year, and that was my prize,” Jones told reporters at the Senior Bowl this week. “So we’re proud of that win – (Brady) has been outstanding.”

Cowboys fans don’t feel the same and would much rather be the NFC outfit heading to the Super Bowl instead of just the team that beat Tom Brady in his last game. You could see some of their reactions below.
The Cowboys have since let offensive coordinator Kellen Moore leave but remain committed to Dak Prescott. They’ve retained defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, whom they feared might leave as he was wanted as a head coach by other teams.
Brady, meanwhile, is set for a career in the broadcast booth and will be the lead football analyst at FOX next season.WANT MORE FROM TOTALPROSPORTS? FOLLOW US ON GOOGLE NEWS.
