The Dallas Cowboys reportedly had one of their players undergo surgery this offseason, with kicker Brandon Aubrey having a procedure done recently.
According to Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News, Aubrey had a minor shoulder operation. ESPN’s Todd Archer added that the player will likely be ready for the team’s offseason activities.
“…And kicker Brandon Aubrey underwent minor shoulder surgery, a source said. He doesn’t kick with his shoulder. (ha, ha, ha) Just providing information,” Watkins reported on Tuesday afternoon.
You know about Osa four-year deal, he signed today.

Aubrey has been with the Cowboys since 2023, having previously played soccer, suiting up for the Birmingham Stallions for one season. The team brought him in as a replacement for Brett Maher after the latter infamously missed five extra points in the 2022 playoffs, with their gamble paying off as he has put up some impressive numbers since joining the NFC outfit.
The now-two-time Pro Bowler has made 76 of his 85 career field goal attempts and 79 of his 82 attempts at extra points, scoring a remarkable 24 of 27 field goals from 50 yards or more.
He made field goals from beyond 60 yards in back-to-back games in September and scored one from 65 yards, just one yard shy of Baltimore Ravens star Justin Tucker’s record.

Brandon Aubrey Willing To Sign An Extension With The Cowboys This Year

Aubrey was a second-team All-Pro in 2024, having been selected as first-team the year before. He remains one of the best at his craft in the NFL, and the sky’s the limit for him.
The player’s contract will expire after next season, and he has already indicated that he’s open to signing an extension with Dallas this year.
“It’s up to my agent to go up to the Cowboys and see if there’s any interest in signing it there early,” he said. “If an extension comes an extension comes, if not, I’m still making ten times what I was making working code, so I’m pretty happy.”
Of course, extending Micah Parsons will be the priority for the Cowboys, but they will have their star kicker in mind.
