Arizona Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins has been the subject of trade rumors since the conclusion of the team’s 2022 season.
Back in January, Jordan Schultz of theScore reported that the Cardinals would look at trading their star wide receiver. But fast forward to the third week of April, and the five-time Pro Bowler remains part of the Arizona offer.
The 2023 NFL draft in Kansas City is just a week away, so the Hopkins could very well pick up in the coming days. Several teams are sure to still be interested in one of the game’s most prolific offensive weapons with six 1,000-yard seasons under his belt.

ESPN’s Bill Barnwell proposed a hypothetical trade for all 31 first-round selections in next week’s draft. The New York Giants hold the No. 25 pick, and Barnwell proposed a trade in which they would deal that and the No. 128 selection in exchange for Hopkins and the No. 34 pick:
“Want to build a receiving corps around Daniel Jones? Trading for TE Darren Waller was a step in the right direction, but Hopkins would be the alpha target the Giants didn’t have on their roster a year ago and don’t have on their depth chart now. It would take some cap gymnastics to fit Hopkins under the cap, either with an extension for him or a new deal for franchised running back Saquon Barkley, but if New York really thinks Jones is a star quarterback in the making, Hopkins is the sort of player who can unlock the best version of Jones at all levels…
Arizona would be able to move up ahead of the Cowboys and Bengals for much-needed defensive line help, and the cost savings would allow it to get a deal done with presumptive new top wideout Marquise Brown.”
Daniel Jones turned in his best season yet for the Giants, leading them to a 9-7-1 record and an unexpected return to the playoffs. The Giants upset the Minnesota Vikings in the Wild Card Round before falling to the Philadelphia Eagles a week later.
As Barnwell noted, the Giants already acquired a stud pass-catcher in tight end Darren Waller. But adding a playmaking wideout like Hopkins could help take this Jones and Saquon Barkley-led offense to a whole new level.
Plenty of teams make sense for Hopkins. But few playoff-contending teams could use him more than the Giants.WANT MORE FROM TOTALPROSPORTS? FOLLOW US ON GOOGLE NEWS.
