Tyquan Samuel caused a wave of comments on Tuesday after he took to Facebook and indicated that 49ers star wide receiver Deebo Samuel may “want out” of San Francisco ahead of the 2022 season.
“Don’t worry we asking for a trade,” he said in the comments section of a post about his brother’s NFL future.
“He won’t be a 49er. That’s all that matters,” he later doubled down.
After social media went nuts over his comments, Tyquan would take to his Instagram story and try his best to fan the flames over what he said.
Samuel and the 49ers appear to be far apart in negotiating a contract extension for the fourth-year receiver. He is looking for a big-time payday after a breakout season that saw him carry the Niners to an NFC Championship game this past season.
Samuel is set to make $4.9 million on the fourth and final year of his rookie contract with the 49ers this coming season.
