The Denver Broncos are making a splash in the free agent market, having signed veteran running back JK Dobbins to a one-year deal.
Dobbins, who gave a remarkable account of himself last season and proved he could be a backfield force when healthy, will have another opportunity to be a key contributor in 2025.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, his deal with the Broncos will pay him $5.25 million.

The 5ft 10in 215-pounder could prove to be a smash signing for the Broncos if he can avoid injury next season. His addition gives the team an experienced head who can force yardage while providing a pass-blocking option. While their second-round pick, RJ Harvey, is expected to play a key role in 2025, Dobbins should see significant time on the field.
He was immense for the Los Angeles Chargers last season, racking up 195 carries for 905 yards and nine touchdowns despite missing four games, adding 32 catches for 153 yards in the air.

Dobbins’ career has been plagued by injury. He missed 43 games in his first four seasons with the Baltimore Ravens but was healthy enough to make a telling impact for L.A. in 2024, something Sean Payton will hope to see him replicate in Denver.
He’s now set to join Harvey, Audric Estime, Jaleel McLaughlin, Tyler Badie, and Blake Watson in the Broncos backfield, and their offense should be much better for it.
The running back torched Denver in their 23-16 loss to the Chargers last season, rushing 25 times to the tune of 96 yards. His new team will look forward to such performances in their uniform.
