Odell Beckham Jr. remains largely in a witness protection program since arriving in Cleveland. Defenses don’t have to worry about him much because he just isn’t getting targeted by Baker Mayfield.
Head coach Kevin Stefanski is pointing the finger firmly at himself.
Beckham was targeted just once by quarterback Baker Mayfield, and he came away with just one six-yard reception.
“I would tell you first and foremost, I need to do a better job. I really do,” Stefanski said, via Daryl Ruiter of 92.3 The Fan. “I need to make sure that I put him in position to make some plays, and I did not do a good enough job certainly yesterday.”
Taking to Twitter on Monday, free agent WR Dez Bryant proposed that the Rams make a move for the Pro Bowl wide receiver after they made a move to get Von Miller from the Broncos.
“Can we get OBJ to the Rams as well?” Bryant wrote.
Odell Beckham Jr. has played just 29 games in 2.5 seasons, making 114 receptions for 1,586 yards and seven touchdowns.
Also on Monday, the Rams traded two Day 2 draft picks to the Denver Broncos for pass rusher Von Miller. The 7-1 Rams have won four games in a row and are tied with the Arizona Cardinals for the lead in the NFC West.
