United States President Donald Trump hosted the Philadelphia Eagles at the White House this Monday following their dominant Super Bowl victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in February, and made a surprising choice.
The Eagles, bereft of their quarterback, Jalen Hurts, who did not make the trip due to “scheduling conflicts,” accepted the White House visit this time around, having rejected an opportunity to grace the presidential residence after winning their first Super Bowl back in 2018.
There were claims that they would decline an invite this time around as well, sparking some drama, as Trump would note that he never extended one.

The team eventually announced that they would oblige should the invitation come through, recently revealing that they were set for an April 28 appointment with the POTUS.
They made good on their promise, heading to Washington, D.C. today, where Trump welcomed and congratulated them, although Hurts and several other team members failed to show up. He singled out the team’s head of security, Dominic DiSandro, A.K.A. “Big Dom,” whom he lauded for being one of his supporters, before calling the man who wears many hats for Philly to the podium to say a few words.
Of course, he has a new one now as Trump sent him one on Sunday.

Big Dom Kept It Brief After Donald Trump’s Warm Invitation

The larger-than-life official kept his words at a minimum, making a very brief speech before shaking hands with the President.
“I’d just like to say thank you, we’re honored to be here,” he remarked. “Thank you, President Trump, and that’s it, go Birds.”

Trump also spent a good portion of his Sunday with Eagles running back Saquon Barkley, playing golf with the Pro Bowler, who has since taken to social media to get critics off his back.
Hurts, who remained quiet when asked if he would be part of the team visit, clearly doesn’t share Barkley’s enthusiasm over Donald Trump.
