Saquon Barkley might be okay with Donald Trump, but it does not look like Jalen Hurts is.
The Philadelphia Eagles are scheduled to visit the White House on Monday to celebrate their Super Bowl win, but it remained unclear if the quarterback would attend.
The Eagles quarterback was in New York recently for the 2025 TIME100 gala. While he was walking the red carpet, a reporter asked him if he was “planning on visiting the White House,” and Hurts gave an “um,” before walking away from the reporter after about eight seconds of awkward silence.
Well, it appears there was something to it.
On Monday afternoon, it was revealed that Jalen Hurts would not visit the White House and President Donald Trump today, according to the White House.

Following their Super Bowl win over the New England Patriots seven years ago, the Trump administration canceled the team’s White House celebration amid disputes over standing for the National Anthem.
Hurts absence comes as star running back Saquon Barkley faces major backlash for playing golf with Trump.
Barkley spent Sunday afternoon with Donald Trump at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster in New Jersey and then traveled to Washington, D.C., with the President.
Jalen Hurts Has Met With Former President Obama Once Before

Jalen Hurts won’t meet Donald Trump as the team travels to the White House, but he had the opportunity to meet President Barack Obama with Saquon Barkley in 2024.
Unlike Barkley, Hurts was unable to play golf with them.
Hurts admitted he can’t golf in his contract.
“To see him out there enjoying himself and talking a little trash, that was cool,” Hurts said. “I told him he didn’t want these problems just yet. I can’t golf right now. By contract, I can’t golf.
“His day will come.”
Hurts admitted he wasn’t allowed to golf and that it was a story for another time.
Jalen Hurts has never openly spoken on his political affiliation, but it seems quite clear where he leans.
