We feel you, Ryan Clark, but it’s a little odd for an ESPN analyst to react to Shedeur Sanders’ Draft slide.
Rumors had the Pittsburgh Steelers drafting Shedeur in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, but they didn’t. The six-time Super Bowl champion team passed on Coach Prime’s son and went in a different direction.
The Steelers selected defensive tackle Derrick Harmon instead of the promising Colorado Buffaloes quarterback.
However, Clark was on his toes while waiting for the announcer to name Shedeur going to the Steelers, but it never happened. Though he put out his honest reaction to Pittsburgh passing on Sanders, the cameras were quick to load it up.

Since the video went viral, Clark is getting a lot of heat for his disgust.
Clark had been a big supporter of Sanders leading up to the draft, so the moment was tough to watch. Fellow commentators Channing Crowder and Fred Taylor were also curiously waiting for the Steelers’ pick.

His frustration was palpable when the announcement was made. He was clearly upset that the team decided to stick with Mason Rudolph as the starter.

NFL Fans Question Ryan Clark For His Reaction Over Shedeur Sanders’ Draft Slide

After losing both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields to free agency, the Steelers definitely need a solid quarterback, so the stakes are high. They finished last season strong at 11-6, but with the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals making some big moves in the offseason.
However, they knew Shedeur Sanders was not the answer to their current struggles.
Clark’s passionate response has struck a chord with fans who are just as confused about the Steelers’ strategy.
“Don’t do Mason dirty like that. Mason is a better than what we have had since Big Ben retired,” a fan commented.

“I mean yeah they were likely paying him to push a positive Sanders narrative. Harmon is a dawg coming from An Oregon fan,” another comment read.

It’s a waiting game now, but with no clear answers, it leaves plenty of room for discussion and a bit of uncertainty about what lies ahead for Pittsburgh. If it’s not Shedeur, it better be someone worthy with their following picks.
