Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh underwent two scheduled medical procedures this offseason.
The 61-year-old said Tuesday he’s in tip-top shape after a cardiac ablation and hip replacement surgery.
The Los Angeles Chargers coach had to step into a medical tent last season during a Week 6 game because of a heart condition called atrial flutter.
Cardiac ablation is a treatment for irregular heartbeats. The Cleveland Clinic describes it as a “minimally invasive procedure that creates scars to stop the electrical impulses that cause irregular heart rhythms.”
The incident marked Harbaugh’s third atrial flutter episode and second during an NFL game.
The other in-game incident occurred in a 2012 game between the San Francisco 49ers and Chicago Bears.
However, after his cardiac ablation, Jim Harbaugh says he has a clean bill of health.

“The doctors can’t find anything wrong with me,” Harbaugh said of his offseason procedures, per ESPN. “A-grade.”
The hip replacement surgery corrected the significant limp he walked with for years.
Harbaugh will return for his second season with the Chargers this fall.
The Chargers went 11-6 during Harbaugh’s first season as coach before getting routed 32-12 by the host Houston Texans in an AFC wild-card game.
Much more is expected of him to get the Chargers to become a Super Bowl contender in the future.
