The 2024 NFL season is officially in the books, and we saw the league’s best quarterbacks go to work and have some incredible performances on the field. Other quarterbacks had rebound years, and some quarterbacks regressed. The 2025 NFL offseason is right around the corner, and some quarterbacks need new teams to call home, while other quarterbacks need that game-changing offensive weapon for a much better 2025 regular season.
Here are the final grades for all 32 NFL teams’ quarterbacks after the 2024 season.
Who are the top quarterbacks in the NFL after the 2024 season?
Arizona Cardinals: Kyler Murray: C

Murray and the Cardinals improved upon their 2023 season but couldn’t make it to the playoffs, so they finished the 2024 season with an 8-9 record. Murray had 3,811 passing yards, threw 21 touchdowns against 11 interceptions, rushed for 572 yards, and scored five rushing touchdowns. A great improvement for Murray, but the Cardinals need to invest in the offensive line, and rookie wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. needs to continue improving as well.
Atlanta Falcons: Michael Penix Jr.: C-

Although Michael Penix Jr. didn’t play in many games in the 2024 season, he showed flashes after Kirk Cousins was benched. Although Penix Jr. went 1-2 as a starter, he managed to have 775 passing yards, throw three touchdowns against three interceptions, had 11 rushing yards, and scored a rushing touchdown. Penix Jr. is going to be a great quarterback in the NFL, and we just need to see what he’s capable of as a full-time starter in the 2025 season, as the Falcons are likely going to move on from Cousins.
Baltimore Ravens: Lamar Jackson: A+

Jackson had an incredible 2024 season with the Ravens, leading them to the AFC North crown and a playoff win against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but lost 25-27 against the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Divisional Round. Jackson had 4,172 passing yards, threw 41 touchdowns against four interceptions, had 915 rushing yards, and scored four rushing touchdowns. Jackson continued to be the king of cool in the AFC North, but he needs another Pro Bowl-caliber wide receiver on his side. We’ll have to see what the Ravens can do in the offseason.
Buffalo Bills: Josh Allen: A+

Allen had an incredible season and earned the AP NFL MVP Award for his performance all season long. Allen had 3,731 passing yards, threw 28 touchdowns against six interceptions, rushed for 531 yards, and scored 12 rushing touchdowns. Although Lamar Jackson threw for more passing yards and more touchdown passes, Allen handled himself extremely well throughout the season without a Pro Bowl-like wide receiver by his side. We look forward to seeing what Josh Allen can do in the 2025 regular season and beyond.
Carolina Panthers: Bryce Young: C-

Yes, Bryce Young looked like a certified bust in the first two games of the regular season. He was benched in favor of Andy Dalton until he suffered a thumb injury in a car accident, forcing Young back into the lineup. When Young returned, his performance slightly improved, as he helped the Panthers secure wins against the New Orleans Saints, New York Giants, Arizona Cardinals, and Atlanta Falcons. Young had 2,403 passing yards, threw 15 touchdowns against nine interceptions, rushed for 249 yards, and scored six rushing touchdowns.
Young was also sacked 29 times, a lot less than he was in the 2023 season. However, the Panthers have to continue making adjustments if they want to see their young quarterback further improve in the 2025 NFL season.
Chicago Bears: Caleb Williams: B

Statistically, Williams had a great season, but the Bears were a complete mess after their week seven bye week. Williams had 3,541 passing yards, threw 20 touchdowns against eight interceptions, and rushed for 489 yards. Williams was also sacked 68 times (the most for a quarterback in the 2024 NFL season). The Bears need to invest in an offensive line that will protect their star quarterback in the 2025 season.
Cincinnati Bengals: Joe Burrow: B+

Burrow had a great season for the Bengals, but the team wasn’t able to reach the playoffs. Burrow did win the Comeback Player of the Year award for his performance on the field. Burrow had 4,918 passing yards, threw 43 touchdowns (the most in the 2024 NFL season) against nine interceptions, rushed for 201 yards, and scored two rushing touchdowns. Burrow needs to continue playing at this elite level for the 2025 season if he and the Bengals want to have a chance to secure a playoff berth.
Cleveland Browns: Jameis Winston: D+

Winston had a very interesting season for the Browns after Deshaun Watson suffered an Achilles injury. Watson played okay but could’ve played better throughout his time on the field. Winston had 2,121 passing yards, threw 13 touchdowns against 12 interceptions, had 83 rushing yards, and scored a rushing touchdown.
With Watson likely out for the 2025 season due to re-rupturing his Achilles, the Browns are going to need a backup quarterback since Winston is going to be an NFL free agent. Who knows where Winston will land, but the Browns might want to bring him back for the 2025 season.
Dallas Cowboys: Cooper Rush: C+

Rush had an okay season for the Cowboys, as he took command of the team after Dak Prescott opted out of the 2024 season to repair an injured hamstring. Rush had 1,844 yards, threw 12 touchdowns against five interceptions, and rushed for 18 yards. Rush isn’t a bad quarterback, but he did what he had to do as an NFL backup. With Prescott expected to return as the starter in the 2025 season, Rush will be right behind him just in case Prescott gets hurt again.
Denver Broncos: Bo Nix: B+

Nix started his rookie campaign looking like a bust, but he managed to turn things around, leading the Broncos to a 10-7 record and their first playoff appearance since the 2015 season. But they lost 7-31 against the Buffalo Bills in the Wildcard Round. Nix had 3,775 yards, threw 29 touchdowns against 12 interceptions, rushed for 430 yards, and scored four rushing touchdowns. Nix is going to improve as a signal caller, and he needs another talented offensive wide receiver to work with and a talented workhorse running back at his side.
Detroit Lions: Jared Goff: A-

Goff had a very nice 2024 season with the Lions, helping the team earn a 15-2 record and the one seed to the NFC Playoffs, but the team was shown the exit 31-45 against the Washington Commanders. Goff had 4,629 passing yards, threw 37 touchdowns against 12 interceptions, and rushed for 56 yards. The NFL veteran continued to shine as the Lions quarterback. The only thing the Lions need to work on is making sure they get past the NFC Divisional Round for a chance at the NFC Championship game and their potential first Super Bowl.
Green Bay Packers: Jordan Love: B-

Love played fairly well in the 2024 season but slightly regressed in production. Love had 3,389 passing yards, threw 25 touchdowns against 11 interceptions, rushed for 83 yards, and scored a rushing touchdown. Love missed some time with an MCL sprain, thrusting Malik Willis to take over for a bit. Willis played well and kept the Packers in games while Love recovered.
Love did help the Packers reach the NFL playoffs but struggled in the team’s 10-22 Wildcard loss against the Philadelphia Eagles, where the star quarterback threw three interceptions and no touchdown passes. Love and company have some work to do if they want to earn the NFC North crown in the 2025 season.
Houston Texans: C.J. Stroud: B-

Stroud slightly regressed in his sophomore season with the Texans. However, he helped the team clinch the AFC South crown and a 32-12 playoff win against the Los Angeles Chargers in the Wildcard Round. However, the team lost 14-23 against the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round. Stroud had 3,727 passing yards, threw 20 touchdowns against 12 interceptions, and rushed for 233 yards. He was also sacked 52 times (the second most in the NFL behind Caleb Williams). The Texans need to provide Stroud with a stronger offensive line around him in the 2025 season.
Indianapolis Colts: Anthony Richardson: D

Richardson regressed in his sophomore season with the Colts, as the team finished with an 8-9 record and missed the playoffs. Richardson had 1,814 yards, threw eight touchdowns against 11 interceptions, rushed for 499 yards, and scored six touchdowns. Richardson’s biggest mistake in the 2024 regular season was when he told reporters he needed a breather in the Colts’ week eight 20-23 loss against the Houston Texans, which will haunt him for a long time.
Joe Flacco stepped in for Richardson but also struggled at times. Richardson was able to play more games in the 2024 NFL season but has a lot of improvements to make in the 2025 season if he wants to remain the team’s starting quarterback.
Jacksonville Jaguars: Mac Jones: C-

Although Jones’ time in Duvall County was short, he did what he could to help the team out while Trevor Lawrence was out for the season with a concussion. Despite going 2-5 as the starting quarterback, Jones had 1,672 passing yards, threw eight touchdowns against eight interceptions, rushed for 92 yards, and scored a rushing touchdown. Jones will likely sign elsewhere in the 2025 NFL offseason, and a quarterback-needy team will sign him. Jones needs a fresh start wherever he signs in the 2025 season.
Kansas City Chiefs: Patrick Mahomes: A-

Even though the Chiefs lacked a Pro Bowl-caliber wide receiver, Patrick Mahomes helped guide the team to Super Bowl 59 but lost 22-40 against the Philadelphia Eagles. During the regular season, Mahomes had 3,928 passing yards, threw 26 touchdowns against 11 interceptions, rushed for 307 yards, and scored two rushing touchdowns.
In the postseason, Mahomes had 679 passing yards, threw five touchdowns against two interceptions, rushed for 82 yards, and scored two rushing touchdowns. A very good season for Mahomes, but the Chiefs need to supply him with a very talented Pro Bowl-like wide receiver if the Chiefs want to return to the Super Bowl in the 2025 season.
Las Vegas Raiders: Aiden O’Connell: C

O’Connell had an okay season statistically for the Raiders, but the team struggled all around him and finished with a 4-13 record with a quarterback carousel. O’Connell had 1,612 passing yards, threw eight touchdowns against four interceptions, rushed for 30 yards, and scored a rushing touchdown. O’Connell will be back with the Raiders in 2025, but he’ll likely remain a backup quarterback while the team looks for their new signal-caller for a much better 2025 NFL season.
Los Angeles Chargers: Justin Herbert: B+

Herbert had a very good 2024 campaign with new head coach Jim Harbaugh coaching the team to an 11-6 record and a playoff berth, but the Chargers were ousted from the playoffs in their 12-32 Wildcard loss against the Houston Texans. Herbert had 3,870 passing yards, threw 23 touchdowns against three interceptions, rushed for 306 yards, and scored two rushing touchdowns. As talented as Herbert is, he needs a Pro Bowl-like tight end to help him out in the 2025 regular season. Hopefully, the Chargers make that move in free agency and/ or in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Los Angeles Rams: Matthew Stafford: B+

Stafford had a very good 2024 season with the Rams, as they won the NFC West Division, reached the playoffs, and won 27-9 against the Minnesota Vikings in the Wildcard Round but lost 22-28 in the Divisional Round. Stafford had 3,762 passing yards, threw 20 touchdowns against eight interceptions, and rushed for 41 yards. Stafford is going to need a new wide receiver to complement Puka Nacua, with the Rams announcing they’re going to trade Cooper Kupp in the 2025 offseason. Hopefully, the Rams will find a talented wide receiver for Stafford to work with for the 2025 season.
Miami Dolphins: Tua Tagovailoa: C

Tagovailoa was on pace to have a good 2024 season, but disaster struck when he suffered a painful concussion in the Dolphins’ week two 10-31 loss against the Buffalo Bills, which sidelined him for six weeks. Tagovailoa had 2,867 passing yards, threw 19 touchdowns against seven interceptions, and had 49 rushing yards.
Tagovailoa did throw his 100th regular season touchdown to Tyreek Hill in the team’s 29-17 win over the San Francisco 49ers. However, Tagovailoa needs to be better protected in the 2025 NFL season and have a much more talented backup quarterback in the wings just in case something happens to him.
Minnesota Vikings: Sam Darnold: A-

Darnold had himself a career renaissance with the Vikings, as he played some great football and led the team to a 14-3 record and a playoff berth, but he lost 9-27 against the Los Angeles Rams. Darnold had 4,319 yards, threw 35 touchdown passes against 12 interceptions, rushed for 212 yards, and scored a rushing touchdown.
Even though Darnold played his heart out for most of the season, his luck came to an end by the end of the regular season with a 9-31 loss against the Detroit Lions in week 18 and the 9-27 Wildcard Round loss against the Los Angeles Rams. It’s also likely Darnold is not going to be back with the Vikings in the 2025 season. Hopefully, he finds a new team to call home in the offseason.
New England Patriots: Drake Maye: B

Although the New England Patriots had a terrible 2024 season, finishing with a 4-13 record, Drake Maye shined and is the face of the team moving forward. Maye had 2,276 yards, threw 15 touchdowns against 10 interceptions, rushed for 421 yards, and scored two rushing touchdowns.
The rookie needs more talented offensive weapons around him for the 2025 NFL season. His new head coach, Mike Vrabel, should be able to help make that happen for the young signal caller.
New Orleans Saints: Derek Carr: C

Carr played an okay season for the Saints, as he and the team dealt with injuries in a very disappointing 2024 season. Carr had 2,145 passing yards, threw 15 touchdowns against five interceptions, rushed for 71 yards, and scored a rushing touchdown. Carr will be back in 2025, but the Saints need to drastically improve as a team under new head coach Kellen Moore in the 2025 regular season.
New York Giants: Drew Lock: D

It was a painful season for Drew Lock, as he and the Giants struggled all season long, even after the team benched and released Daniel Jones. Lock had 1,071 yards, threw six touchdowns with five interceptions, rushed for 133 yards, and scored two rushing touchdowns. Lock split the reps with Tommy DeVito and Tim Boyle after Jones’ release from the team. Lock is set to be a free agent in the 2025 offseason and will need a new team to call home as a veteran backup in the 2025 regular season.
New York Jets: Aaron Rodgers: D+

Although Rodgers played a lot more in the 2024 season, he and the Jets had an incredibly disappointing season, finishing the year with a 5-12 record. Rodgers had 3,897 passing yards, threw 28 touchdowns against 11 interceptions, and rushed for 107 yards.
Rodgers also played through an MCL issue in his knee, and the Jets informed the veteran quarterback they would part ways with him in the 2025 NFL offseason. Either Rodgers plays one more year with a new team or just straight-up retires. Regardless, it’s been very fun watching Rodgers perform on the field throughout the years.
Philadelphia Eagles: Jalen Hurts: A

Hurts had a great 2024 season with the Eagles. He helped the team rebound from a 2-2 start and guided them to the playoffs. Hurts helped the team conquer the Green Bay Packers 22-10 in the Wildcard Round, defeated the Los Angeles Rams 28-22 in the Divisional Round, dismantled the Washington Commanders 55-23 in the NFC Championship game, and obliterated the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in Super Bowl 59.
Hurts had 2,903 passing yards, threw 18 touchdowns against five interceptions, rushed for 630 yards, and scored 14 rushing touchdowns. Hurts was very effective as a rusher, and having Saquon Barkley on the team also helped out tremendously. We can’t wait to see what Hurts and the Eagles accomplish in the 2025 regular season.
Pittsburgh Steelers: Russell Wilson: B+

Wilson played very well in his first season with the Steelers, even though the team finished with a 10-7 record and a 14-28 loss against the Baltimore Ravens in the Wildcard Round. Wilson had 2,482 passing yards, threw 16 touchdowns against five interceptions, rushed for 155 yards, and scored two rushing touchdowns.
It’s unclear whether Wilson will return to the Steelers or not, as the veteran quarterback indicated he might be back with the team in the 2025 NFL season. Who knows? Regardless of what happens, we can’t wait to see what Wilson does in the 2025 season.
Seattle Seahawks: Geno Smith: C+

Smith had an okay year for the Seahawks, as the team barely missed the playoffs and finished the season with a 10-7 record. Smith had 4,320 passing yards, threw 21 touchdowns against 15 interceptions, rushed for 272 yards, and scored two rushing touchdowns. Rumors have emerged about whether Smith will get traded or remain a Seahawk as he enters the final year of his contract. We would like to see Smith finish his NFL career with the Seahawks, but we’ll have to wait and see what the team does in the 2025 offseason.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Baker Mayfield: B+

It was a very disappointing season for Levis and the Titans, as the team finished the regular season with a 3-14 record, but they did earn the number one pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. As for Levis, he had 2,091 passing yards, threw 13 touchdowns against 12 interceptions, and rushed for 183 yards. Levis became more known for how he reacted to his turnovers than his production on the field. Levis will be back in the 2025 NFL season, but the question is, will the team select a quarterback and move on from Levis? Or will the Titans address their offensive line? Levis was sacked 41 times in the 2024 season. Hopefully, he will find a way to rebound in 2025.
Washington Commanders: Jayden Daniels: A-

Daniels had a very outstanding rookie season with the Commanders, as he helped lead the team to playoffs, a 23-20 Wildcard victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and a 45-31 Divisional Round win over the Detroit Lions but lost to 23-55 to the eventual Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.
Daniels had 3,568 passing yards, threw 25 touchdowns against nine interceptions, rushed for 891 yards, and scored six rushing touchdowns. What Daniels accomplished with the Commanders was truly amazing! We truly can’t wait to see what Daniels will accomplish in the 2025 season.
