A former NFL player is forced to auction off his Super Bowls. Two championship rings belonging to former Indianapolis Colts linebacker Gary Brackett are going to auction.
The Super Bowl XLI ring won by Brackett, along with the AFC Championship ring he won with the team, will go up for bids during the Ripley Auctions Super Sports & Entertainment Sale in Indianapolis on Feb 5th.
He is hoping to make some money after being forced to file for bankruptcy. His small business was negatively impacted by COVID-19.
Dan Ripley, owner of Ripley Auctions, has already issued a statement on Brackett’s ring.
“This auction gives buyers an incredible opportunity to own the pinnacle of achievement in professional sports, a genuine, player-issued Super Bowl ring,” Ripley said, via TMZ.
Brackett’s Super Bowl ring is one of about 70 rings made for the players who defeated the Chicago Bears in 2007.
Brackett ended his career with 712 tackles, 12 interceptions, five forced fumbles and four sacks.
