Earlier this week, Herschel Walker made a big mistake with what he said.
The Georgia GOP Senate candidate said there are 52 states in the United States of America. He was speaking on Georgia’s Democratic candidate for governor Stacey Abrams, who recently said “I am tired of hearing about [Georgia] being the best state in the country to do business when we are the worst state in the country to live.”
During an appearance on the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show, Walker shockingly stated that Abrams should go live in another state and that she had 51 states to choose from.
“It was totally insulting,” Walker said of Abrams’ remarks. “You said it was the worst state that you know of, and yet you’re running for office here…. If you want to get this Georgia back together, you want to get this country back together, you’ve got to vote for the people who believe in this country.”
“If you don’t believe in the country, leave and go somewhere else,” he added. “If it’s the worst state, why are you here? Why don’t you leave? Go to another—there’s what, 51 more other states you can go to, you don’t have to be here.”
Walker’s spokesperson, Mallory Blount, responded to the mistake.
“Herschel misspoke ― he obviously knows there are 50 states,” she said, per the HuffPost.
Walker is hoping to unseat incumbent Democratic Senator Raphael Warnock.
