One family is going to be incredibly heartbroken this week as the body of a man was pulled from a lake Wednesday next to SoFi Stadium, home of the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams and Chargers after he trespassed onto the property, officials said.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department said it received a call earlier that morning about a man who went into the man-made lake and never came out.
“He was fairly determined to get onto the property,” Inglewood Mayor James Butts Jr. told reporters.
Just before 6:15 a.m., the man was last seen entering the lake and moving toward the middle, and he was last seen above the water minutes later.
His body was recovered just after 9:45 a.m. He was described as a Hispanic man about 45 years of age.
SoFi Stadium last hosted Super Bowl LVI between the Rams and Cincinnati Bengals in February. The Rams won 23-20.
