JJ Watt felt inspired after witnessing history, as Rory McIlroy won the Masters on Sunday to become the sixth-career grand slam pro golfer.
Rory beat Justin Rose in a one-hole playoff to win his first Green Jacket at Augusta National, coming back from an incredibly poor start to clinch an honor that had eluded him all of his career.
Watt also took to the greens at Augusta on Monday and played from the member tees with the exact pin placements used at the Masters on Sunday. He also claimed to have followed strict rules and didn’t get anything for free, finishing with a total score of 103.
While playing from member tees meant the distance was way shorter than what Rory and other pros faced at the grounds, it was still a difficult challenge.

“Championship Tees are about 1,100 yards further in total,” he explained to someone in the comments who wanted to imagine himself trying this out. “Those guys are just on a completely different level, it’s insane.”

JJ Watt Is Not Considering Professional Golf

One might suggest that JJ Watt should consider jumping on a tour, but he has no plans to play professionally. The former defensive juggernaut has plenty on his plate post-retirement.
His broadcasting career keeps getting better. He’s joined Ian Eagle as an analyst on CBS Sports’ NFL B Team ahead of next season and still has more going on.
He’s also part owner of English soccer club Burnley while he and his wife Kealia are expecting a second child after welcoming their first two years ago. But Monday’s outing was quite the feat.
