Steelers fullback Derek Watt is out for the remainder of Pittsburgh’s “Monday Night Football” game against the Bengals after suffering a scary blow to his head during a punt return.
Watt, who sustained the injury during the first quarter, is being evaluated for a concussion.
It was scary watching it as a fan, but even more frightening when you’re related to the person who is hurt. Watt, the middle brother of NFL stars T.J. and J.J. Watt, endured a knee to his head after making the tackle of Bengals’ return man Alex Erickson.
J.J. Watt, Derek’s brother went on social media to send out a message of his own.
“Worst feeling you can ever have watching a football game. Sounds like he’s going to be alright thankfully. Thank you for all the thoughts & concerns,” JJ Watt tweeted on Sunday night.
Hopefully, it is nothing serious and he can return to the field for their next game.
