The Las Vegas Raiders are bringing in former 2019 first-round pick and Super Bowl 55 champion Devin White to bolster their defense.
Per Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports, the Raiders signed the veteran linebacker to a one-year contract. White, the No. 5 pick of 2019 by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was teammates with Tom Brady for three years.
The LSU product spent his first five seasons (2019 to 2023) with Tampa Bay. Together, Devin White and Tom Brady led the Bucs to three playoff appearances and a Super Bowl 55 championship in the 2020 season.
Brady, who wrapped up his first season as an analyst with Fox Sports this year, was approved as a minority owner of the Raiders in October. The seven-time Super Bowl champion and Mark Davis have moved quickly to restructure the Raiders, hiring former Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll for their HC position before acquiring Pro Bowl quarterback Geno Smith in a trade.

New general manager John Spytek also worked in the Bucs’ front office as the director of player personnel when they drafted Devin White in 2019. Spytek held various roles with the Bucs through 2024 before the Raiders hired him for their GM position.
The Raiders also signed ex-Buccaneers guard Alex Cappa to a two-year deal in free agency after his release from the Cincinnati Bengals. Fast forward to 2025, and there’s an old Bucs reunion here with Brady, White, Spytek and Cappa in Sin City.

Devin White Looks To Revive Career With Raiders

White looked like a superstar in the making when he led the Bucs to a Super Bowl 55 championship as a 22-year-old sophomore. The do-it-all linebacker followed up his career year with a Pro Bowl nod in 2021, leading the Bucs to their first NFC South division title in 14 years.
But White hasn’t been anything close to a Pro Bowl-caliber talent since 2021. He played seven games with the Houston Texans in 2024 following his release from the Philadelphia Eagles. Can the Raiders be the team to revive his career? Stay tuned.
