Colorado Buffaloes safety Shilo Sanders will reportedly get to keep his luxurious Mercedes-Benz vehicle after all.
Last year, news emerged that Shilo Sanders filed for bankruptcy in court after racking up more than $11 million in debts. Shilo is the son of Buffaloes HC and Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders and the older brother of former teammate and projected first-round pick, Shedeur Sanders.
Per Brent Schrotenboer of USA Today, Shilo owned a Mercedes-Benz car that the company tried to repossess after falling behind on its payments.
According to Mercedes-Benz Financial Services, the 25-year-old “was $6,877 past due” on his payments for the $135,000 vehicle. As such, they were looking to receive ownership of the car again in court.
Schrotenboer now reports, however, that Mercedes-Benz Financial Services is withdrawing its motion and no longer looking to repossess the car:
“The company’s financial services arm filed a document in court Monday saying it has withdrawn its motion for relief from the bankruptcy court where Sanders is trying to free himself of more than $11 million in debt.
It didn’t say why, but Shilo’s father and coach, Deion Sanders, said Friday that Shilo had fulfilled his financial obligations while acknowledging there was a “disruption in the payments process.” The company could have decided to drop it if he recently paid what he owed.”
The motion outlined that Shilo Sanders “indicated an intent to retain the motor vehicle and reaffirm the obligation,” per Schrotenboer.

Sanders spent his first two college seasons at South Carolina before transferring to Jackson State, where his father coached him. Along with Deion and Shedeur, Shilo took his talents to Colorado after “Coach Prime” signed a lucrative deal with the school in 2022.
Over his four seasons at South Carolina and Colorado, Shilo Sanders appeared in 34 games and recorded one interception, six pass breakups, five forced fumbles (four alone in the 2023 season), and three fumble recoveries.
Shilo Sanders May Not Get Picked In 2025 NFL Draft

Barring any surprises, Shedeur will be the second quarterback selected in the draft behind Miami’s Cam Ward, the front-runner to go first overall to the Tennessee Titans.
It’s possible that Shilo will be a late-round pick during the draft in Green Bay, but it’s quite likely that he’ll instead have to sign as an undrafted free agent. Then again, a team like Jerry Jones’ Dallas Cowboys or Mark Davis’ Las Vegas Raiders might draft late for the sake of extra media attention.
