Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy made some interesting comments today in regards to that now infamous QB draw that sent the Cowboys to the offseason.
Trailing 23-17 with less than a minute left on the clock, it seemed like the Cowboys might have a chance to take a shot at the end zone with one more good yardage play. With just 13 seconds left on the clock, Dak Prescott took off running and slid with just over five seconds left on the clock.
However, he gave the ball to his center as the ref had to run in and reset the ball. Time ran out.
According to head coach Mike McCarthy, the team had two plays called – a running play with Prescott and a passing play. The quarterback reportedly opted into the run play, which McCarthy said was the right call.
That is just one of those plays that will follow the team all offseason as they once again try to look for the answer to get this franchise back to what it once was.
McCarthy said the main focus for the Cowboys this offseason is to cut down on the penalties. They were penalized 14 times this past Sunday.
“Our No. 1 focus going forward is the penalties,” McCarthy told reporters. “There were far too many.”
With the loss to the San Francisco 49ers this past weekend, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott now owns a 1-3 record in the playoffs.WANT MORE FROM TOTALPROSPORTS? FOLLOW US ON GOOGLE NEWS.
