The NFL is reportedly reviewing the role Jeff Ulbrich played in Shedeur Sanders’ phone number leaking to pranksters, who called the former Colorado star during the draft and had him believe he was being taken by the New Orleans Saints in round 2.
It’s already known that Shedeur’s privacy was compromised by Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator, though not on purpose.
The Falcons confirmed on Sunday that the DC’s son, Jax Ulbrich, had seen the number on his father’s iPad and saved it to prank the quarterback later.
The team has also issued an apology to Sanders and his family, and Jax has also done so. They have indicated that they won’t be taking any action against Jeff.

The NFL, however, is still looking into the matter, with a spokesman revealing as much to ProFootballTalk.
“We have been in contact with the Falcons and we are reviewing the matter,” they told the outlet via email.

PFT has also gotten two memos sent to all NFL teams pertaining to the contact information of draft prospects, Sanders specifically.
The first one of those, dated April 23, 2025, is addressed to all “General Managers, Head Coaches, Player Personnel Directors, Club IT Directors” from the NFL Player Personnel department. It lists the contact numbers (cell phone and green room) of the 16 players invited to the draft and the 24 players participating virtually.
Sanders fell among the latter.

Another email was sent to “All Waivers [NFL League]” on the same day and contained a “new cell phone number beginning today” for Shedeur.
According to a source, that communication is widely distributed to all coaches and personnel executives, which would have also been sent to Ulbrich.
While the Falcons don’t blame Ulbrich in their statement, PFT wonders whether the NFL will accept the team’s explanation or “dig deeper.”
“It’s reasonable to conclude that Jax Ulbrich saw the second email, which had only Sanders’s updated number — especially since that’s the number that was called during the draft. The question is how and when he saw it.”
Meanwhile, the NFL should also be investigating prank calls made to Tyler Warren on Day 1 and another player who was told he had been traded 30 minutes after he was drafted.
