Jared Lorenzen’s legacy won’t soon be forgotten, no matter how many years have passed.
Back in 2018, the former Kentucky quarterback died battling both kidney and heart issues as well as an infection. He was just 38-years-old.
“It’s been 3 years since former Kentucky QB Jared Lorenzen tragically passed away at the age of 38,” said Jim Weber. “He was an awesome football player and an even better person. If you are too young to have seen him in college, he was an absolute electric factory.”
This week, his name has gained steam once again after a recent photo surfaced of his son, Tayden.
Tayden is currently a middle school quarterback in Cincinnati.
“1 more note about Jared Lorenzen: His son, Tayden, is currently a middle school QB just outside Cincinnati. And the little man looks GOOD in that royal blue #22!,” Weber added.
Nicknamed “The Hefty Lefty,” Lorenzen played for four seasons at Kentucky. As a freshman, he led the SEC in passing yards with 3,687.
The Kentucky native still holds the school record for most career passing yards with 10,354.
Lorenzen wasn’t selected in the 2004 NFL draft but was later picked up by the Giants. He played as Eli Manning’s backup quarterback in 2006 and 2007.
