It’s been more than a month since the Dallas Cowboys released Pro Bowl running back Ezekiel Elliott from his contract, but the 27-year-old remains a free agent with the draft now just five days away.
Per David Moore of the The Dallas Morning News, the two-time rushing champion made an appearance at the “Light It Up” event at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas. There, Elliott met and spoke with pediatric cancer patients.
When Elliott was asked about being released from America’s team, he decided not to discuss the matter but told reporters that he’s “doing great.”
Fans on social media reacted to Elliott’s brief update that things are going well on his end.
Tony Pollard finished as the Cowboys’ leading rusher in 2022, recording 1,007 yards despite seeing fewer carries than Elliott. The Ohio State product finished the 2022 season with 876 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns.
Dallas placed the franchise tag on Pollard, preventing him from entering free agency. They added extra depth by signing two-time Super Bowl winning RB Ronald Jones .
A three-time Pro Bowler, the 2016 and 2018 rushing champion has 8,262 career rushing yards and 68 touchdowns. He has rushed for 1,000 yards four times in his seven-year career.WANT MORE FROM TOTALPROSPORTS? FOLLOW US ON GOOGLE NEWS.
