Earlier today, NFL insider John Clayton made social media go crazy with his report on what he was hearing about JJ Watt.
On ESPN Radio Wednesday, Clayton identified the Tennessee Titans, Green Bay Packers and Buffalo Bills as the three frontrunners to sign JJ Watt. He also reportedly stated that the Pittsburgh Steelers wouldn’t be signing him.
Clayton would soon take to Twitter and clarify his statement:
As you can see, he did not appear to clarify anything on the Steelers part of his statement.
Watt and the Texans front office mutually agreed to part ways this offseason after a 4-12 campaign. This past season, the veteran DE recorded 52 tackles (14 for loss) and five sacks.
He clearly still has enough left in the tank for any contending team to pursue him.
