With five weeks remaining in the NFL schedule, there are plenty of intriguing games left to be played, as several teams still have everything to play for.
One team who doesn’t fall under that category, however, is the Los Angeles Rams, who currently sit in last place in the NFC West with a 3-8 record. And to make matters worse, they are without perhaps their three best players, as Aaron Donald, Cooper Kupp and Matthew Stafford have all been out multiple weeks with injuries.
Donald has expressed his desire to return before the season’s over, but the same is unlikely for the other two, meaning the Rams could be hard-pressed to score points down the final stretch.
Add it all up, and Sean McVay’s club is suddenly one of the least desirable teams to watch in the entire league right now. Despite that, we may still be forced to suffer through multiple Rams games during the final month of the season…
And we have the NFL’s schedule makers to thank for it, as they have the Los Angeles Rams playing in primetime for every one of their games between weeks 14 and 17.
L.A. kicks things off with a Thursday nighter against the equally disappointing Las Vegas Raiders in week 14. Then they play on Monday against another disappointing squad in the Green Bay Packers in week 15.
That’s followed by the Christmas gift that absolutely no one wanted: Rams vs. Broncos on Christmas Day.
And finally, it’s the battle of L.A. in week 17, when the Rams take on the Chargers on Sunday Night Football.
The good news is that week 17 game is all but certain to be flexed, but we’re unfortunately stuck with the other three Rams primetime games…
And the fans are NOT happy about it. Here’s what they’re saying on Twitter about the NFL’s huge scheduling gaffe:
