The Washington Football Team rebrand is underway…somewhat.
The ‘Redskins’ team name and logo was retired earlier this month by the team after public pressure from major sponsors and retailers.
The process is expected to take sometime, so in the meantime, the franchise will be going by the ‘Washington Football Team until further notice.
We’ve already gotten a look at the updated jerseys Washington will wear this season and now we have a look at what fans will be rocking for the foreseeable future after the NFL Shop dropped the pictures on Tuesday.
As far as the fans who are upset by the transition, Ron Rivera has a sure fire way to win them over.
“We’re going to try and win the fans over by playing good football more so than anything else,” Rivera said. “When you play well, when you win football games, people get behind you and they support you.”
“We’ve got to do the things the right way. We’ve got to change the culture as to who we are and really, kind of not just rebrand the name but rebrand the style of football we’re going to play,” Rivera said. “Rebrand the way we do things and that’s probably one of the most important things we’ve got to do right now.”
