Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes appears to fully approve of the team’s 2025 first-round draft pick.
After trading down one spot with the Super Bowl 59 champion Philadelphia Eagles, the Chiefs used their 2025 first-round selection on Ohio State Buckeyes offensive tackle Josh Simmons.
And Mahomes’ instant reaction on X/Twitter suggests he’s more than pleased with it:

The Chiefs boasted a top-tier offensive line from 2021 to 2024, but it was picked apart by the Eagles in Super Bowl 59. Mahomes stood no chance behind Philly’s ferocious pass rush, as he was sacked six times and lost one fumble in a 40-22 blowout loss.
Kansas City GM Brett Veach traded star guard Joe Thuney to the Chicago Bears in a cap-saving move, placed the franchise tag on Trey Smith and signed ex-San Francisco 49ers lineman Jaylon Moore.
With Simmons coming aboard, there’s a lot more depth on Kansas City’s offensive line. And with inconsistent veteran Jawaan Taylor a strong candidate to be cut at some point between now and next offseason, Simmons shouldn’t have to wait long to step in as one of Patrick Mahomes’ protectors up front.

Patrick Mahomes Has To Be Happy With Chiefs Offseason So Far

Aside from the reinforcements on the offensive line, All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce decided to hold off retirement for at least another year. KC also re-signed JuJu Smith-Schuster, Kareem Hunt and Hollywood Brown to keep their offensive core intact.
With Simmons and a healthy Rashee Rice returning, Patrick Mahomes has to be pleased with the work of the front office this offseason.
