Patrick Mahomes briefly left his team’s AFC Divisional Round game against the Jacksonville Jaguars with an ankle injury, but he returned to the game in heroic fashion. He would go on to throw a crucial touchdown pass late to help lead his team to a 27-20 victory.
Mahomes suffered the injury late in the first quarter after a hit from pass-rusher Arden Key. He completed 22 of 30 passes for 195 yards and two scores.
The Chiefs may have won the game and moved on, but now the attention turns to his availability for the championship game.
He would ease those fears about his status for the AFC Championship Game by expressing extreme confidence in his status for that contest.
“I’ll be ready to go,” Patrick Mahomes.
