Dave Portnoy has condemned the hateful message displayed at his Philadelphia-based Barstool Sports bar and fired two of his employees. However, there’s still more action to be taken, as the police have gotten involved.
According to reports, Philadelphia authorities are investigating the incident that saw a sign reading “F**k the Jews” held up at the establishment. This might have gone over quietly had it not made it to social media, but it’s all over the internet now, leaving Portnoy in the resulting maelstrom.
Per NBC, Tanya Little, a police spokesperson, said information was being gathered and an update would be provided “as soon as possible.”
Temple University has also released a statement in which they claim that some of their students “were involved in an antisemitic incident at an off-campus location.”
As of Sunday, one student had been identified, with the school noting that its Division of Student Affairs was investigating. They added that anyone else discovered to have been involved could face disciplinary action and might be expelled.
“In the strongest terms possible, let me be clear: antisemitism is abhorrent,” University President John Fry. “It has no place at Temple and acts of hatred and discrimination against any person or persons are not tolerated at this university.”

Portnoy, who is Jewish, expressed his frustration and disgust at the incident and said he was ready to ruin those responsible, as well as their families but later thought that they were just “drunk morons” who would probably be better off put through a learning experience.
“So, yeah, my initial reaction was, I’m gonna f***ing burn these people to the ground. Their families, everything,” he remarked.
“And it’s like, you know what? Maybe that’s not the best course of action. Maybe I can use this as a teaching moment.”
It appears the police and Temple University have other plans.
