The 2019 NFL season seems to be on tap for being the most flagged season in league history. Through two preseason games, we have seen a ridiculous amount of flags called for things that should’ve been let go or never called to begin with.
That was the case when the Cleveland Browns took to the Colts.
On Saturday, Browns’ special teams player JT Hassell got down field in a hurry to make a tackle on a Colts punt returner.
He was immediately flagged for illegal use of a helmet.
Take another look in slow motion:
That is a legal tackle in every since of the word. Hopefully, refs look back at game film and correct these type of calls before the season begins.
