Amazon is coming hard for talent in the NFL world.
Kay Adams has been mentioned as a potential frontrunner to host the streaming platform’s Thursday Night Football show, but now she has stiff competition.
“Amazon Prime Video is targeting both Charissa Thompson of Fox Sports and Colleen Wolfe of NFL Network to host its ‘Thursday Night Football’ pregame show, sources tell @FOS . Could they take job away from previous front-runner Kay Adams?” Front Office Sports’ Michael McCarthy tweeted.
Thompson has been with Fox Sports for several years and she currently hosts a podcast with Erin Andrews, who is staying at Fox after Troy Aikman and Joe Buck’s departure.
Andrews revealed how hurt she was by the departure of Joe Buck and Troy Aikman.
“They became my brothers and really became my best friends,” she said, fighting through tears. “I’m sad, but I’m so happy for them.”
“Every Thanksgiving I am with them,” she said. You know, the past two Christmases I have been with them. You are on their planes, you are at their house. They’ve listened to my fertility issues and they knew about my cancer issues. I’ve listened to them talking about their daughters or, you now, having their babies…They literally become your family.”
Possibly losing Thompson might just break her even more.
