This is not what anybody wanted to hear that somebody who played in the National Football League has lost their life so young. Rumors started swirling Thursday night that Demaryius Thomas was dead while the Steelers and Vikings were playing on Thursday Night Football.
Those rumors would be confirmed when we found out that Demaryius Thomas had suddenly passed away at the age of 33.
Since the initial announcement, we have learned more in what exactly happened.
The family of Demaryius Thomas believes he died from a seizure, relatives told the Associated Press.
The former Broncos wide receiver “had been suffering from seizures for over a year,” LaTonya Bonseigneur, Thomas’ cousin, said Friday.
“He was alone and a friend couldn’t get hold of him, so he called his driver, who has a key because of these seizures, and he went into his home and found him in the shower,” Bonseigneur said. “We’re not sure when he died. We just spoke with him (Wednesday).”
Thomas played college football at Georgia Tech, and was drafted by the Broncos in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft.
