Many analysts and football fans might be starting to believe in the red-hot Dallas Cowboys, but Rob Gronkowski won’t be fooled by them because he’s seen this story from them before.
While appearing on FOX Sports’ pregame show Sunday, the future hall of fame tight end took a shot at the Dallas Cowboys.
“Are the Dallas Cowboys pretenders or contenders? And history states that they’re pretenders every season,” Gronkowski said.
The longtime New England Patriots tight end also cited how the NFC West-leading San Francisco 49ers should be considered as a legitimate threat in the conference along with the Vikings and Eagles.
Sure enough, his comments did not sit well with a lot of Cowboys fans, who were quick to remind Rob Gronkowski how the Cowboys just destroyed the Vikings 40-3 in Week 11.
Dak Prescott and co. beat the Houston Texans in Week 14 for their fourth straight victory, but it took them until the final 3 minutes of the game to make that happen as they struggled all game long with the worst team in the league.
Dallas trailed Houston all game until running back Ezekiel Elliott scored a touchdown with 41 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. Dak Prescott had an abysmal game as he completed 24 of 39 passes for 284 yards and one touchdown against two interceptions.
