Marquise Brown woke up this morning seeing his name trend in a heavy way after a rumor stated that the Baltimore Ravens WR was retiring from the National Football League. He was doing so in order to take up a career in professional gaming.
The rumor started here:
“Marquise Brown is retiring to pursue a career in gaming per sources. Marquise has dedicated a lot of time in the last 18 months to building a twitch following and he’s looking to parlay that success into a sustainable career”

After a bunch of hoopla on social media, Brown would take to Twitter and respond to the retirement rumors, but would soon delete it.
“Man, what did I log back into?”
“Loggin back off, If I retire ima become a professional troll.”
Brown finished the 2021 season with 91 receptions for 1,008 yards with 6 touchdowns. He talked about getting better as a player as well as getting into the postseason and the Super Bowl, which leads you to believe that he is not going anywhere.
“I feel like I had a weak 1,000 yards, but I’m grateful, [I’m] thankful,” Brown said. “But [that was] definitely not how I wanted to end the season. We started the season off good. One of the key things I talked about was consistency, and I feel like the later half of the season wasn’t that consistent.
“So, for me, I’m going to go back to work and come back, and … 1,000 yards is really just like a base. That’s just … [I] really want to get in the playoffs, win Super Bowls and become a better player.”
Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta told reporters earlier this month that he “anticipates” picking up WR Marquise Brown‘s fifth-year option in the coming months, per Jeff Zrebiec.
Brown’s fifth-year option is projected to cost the Ravens $12,909,000 fully guaranteed for the 2023 season.
