On Wednesday, the NFL announced that referee Bill Vinovich will head the officiating crew for the upcoming Super Bowl LIV.
He will be joined by umpire Barry Anderson, field judge Michael Banks, down judge Kent Payne, side judge Boris Cheek, line judge Carl Johnson, back judge Greg Steed and replay official Mike Chase.
You might not remember Vinovich, but at least one player from an eliminated team does.
“O no,” Thomas wrote. “He don’t even own any flags. Let me stop.”
Much like Thomas, the entire city of New Orleans is still upset over the infamous 2018-19 NFC championship where a missed pass interference call cost the Saints their shot to be in the Super Bowl.
To be fair, it wasn’t Vinovich who was responsible for throwing that flag on Nickell Robey-Coleman, but he was in charge of the crew.
