It’s not often that Shannon Sharpe takes up for a player on the Dallas Cowboys, but some situations just have to be addressed.
The former NFL tight end blasted the Cowboys franchise for how they have treated Dak Prescott, stating on undisputed that this is the first time he has seen a quarterback accomplish what Prescott has through his first four years in the league, and still have to threaten a holdout.
Skip Bayless then blasted Sharpe for talking bad about Dak for years and now wants to see him paid.
“In all my years, I’ve never seen a QB accomplish what Dak has in his first 4 years and have to threaten to hold out.”
The franchise got blasted all over again when they elected to sign Andy Dalton to be the backup before they figured out what they would do with Dak. It has the makings of them preparing for Dak to holdout and having Dalton there as insurance just in case he does.
Dalton said he is excited to come in and be any type of help to the Cowboys as well as Prescott.
Via The Adam Schefter Podcast:
“I wanted to join a high-class organization and team that’s ready to win and be with Mike McCarthy … His history with quarterbacks gives me a chance to come to a new place, a chance to learn, to help Dak out any way I can, and just be an asset for this team. Obviously, I bring a lot of experience and can bring a lot to the table. I’m here to help this team win and help in any way I can.”
Prescott threw for 4,902 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 11 picks while completing 65% of his passes during the 2019 season.
