Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders has admitted that his approach to meetings turned off some NFL teams amid the pre-draft process.
A lot has been said regarding Sanders’ attitude during interviews ahead of the upcoming NFL Draft, with plenty of criticism surfacing, though there has also been lots said in his defense.
The Buffaloes star is one of 2025’s most intriguing prospects and expects to hear his name called early in the first round. However, not all of the teams that met him were happy with the way he handled himself.
Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders says teams have been "offended" by his approach in interviews.

"Some get offended, some like it, some don't. Make some people uncomfortable, some people invite that. They know what type of person and what type of player they're gonna get out of me.” pic.twitter.com/sttW2dJ2TY
Shedeur has told the NFL Network why he believes that is, claiming he is always going to be himself, although he knows that’s not what some owners and general managers want.
The QB told the Network he speaks his mind in all his interviews, which is offensive to some teams, while some teams like it.
“When I go visit these coaches and when I go to all these different franchises, I ask them truly what I think and how I feel,” he said. “Some get offended, some like it, some don’t.

Shedeur Sanders Is Just As Picky As Owners And GMs

The future NFL rookie also pointed out that teams know the player they’re getting if they draft him, and he wants to know the team he would be heading into as well.
He added:
“Make some people uncomfortable, some people invite that. They know what type of person and what type of player they’re gonna get out of me, so I just have to make sure, you know, what type of culture or what type of dynamic I’m going to have with them also.”
Sanders and the people in charge are well aware that a player’s fit with a team can sometimes be more important than talent.
When it comes to the latter, there’s hardly any doubting what he can produce on the field. However, whether or not he finds the proper setup for his personality remains to be seen.
